Forever in our hearts — Sandra Rodgers: 1947-2023

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Rodgers, age 75, departed this earthly life on Feb. 5, 2023, in Amboy, Washington of natural causes. 

Sandy is survived by her children, Sara Brown, Anna Dunn and Debbie Rodgers; Sons-in-law Nolan Wheeler and James Brown; grandchildren Scott Wheeler, Thomas Nichols, Reagan Wheeler, Kelvin Dunn, Ryan Rodgers, Kayla Dunn and Dillion Brown; great-grandson Colt Brown; and sister Peggy Robertson. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry Rodgers and brother Gary Crawford. Sandy was born in Vancouver, Washington on March 2, 1947, to Josephine and Harold Crawford. She graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Rodgers, on July 23, 1966. 

Sandy was a devoted christian, loving wife, mom and grandma. She was a girl scout troop leader, Sunday school teacher and a volunteer for the adult literacy program. Sandy’s various jobs were an Avon consultant, seamstress, working for Brown Seed Co., and as a temp for Battle Ground Public Schools as a recess aid and helping students with reading skills. 

Sandy enjoyed sewing, drawing, arts and crafts, reading, singing and her cat named Babe. Sandy was a longtime member of TOPS and of the Free Spirits. Sandy’s sense of humor and never ending hugs will be deeply missed by all that knew her. 

A celebration of life is scheduled for noon on May 27, 2023, at Mt. Valley Grange in Amboy, Washington.
