Educational Service District 112 is accepting applications from those who are interested in filling the unexpired term of the Director District 1 board position after Richard Graham resigned from the seat he held for 25 years.

The district encompasses Green Mountain, La Center, Kalama and the Woodland School District as well as parts of the Battle Ground and Kelso school districts.

Candidates must be registered to vote and need to reside within the boundaries of the district in order to qualify.

ESD board members are volunteers who attend monthly meetings at the district’s headquarters in Vancouver. The District 1 appointment will expire in January of 2024, stated a news release. The successful applicant would be required to run for election in 2023 to continue in the position.

Applicants cannot be a board member or an employee of a public or private school district, the Educational Service District, the Office of State Superintendent of Public Instruction or the State Board of Education.
