Kiwanis Club meeting: 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23. Join the Kiwanis Club for its club meeting at the Kiwanis Park building at 400 SE Second Ave., Battle Ground. It will feature a potluck dinner and dessert. The club meets on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at the Kiwanis Park building.

GFWC meeting: 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 23. Join the General Foundation of Women’s Clubs for its meeting at 14208 NE 249th St. in Battle Ground. Attendees will learn how quilting can help newborn babies in Southwest Washington through cooperation with Babies in Need, a local nonprofit. GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through community service.

Woodland Way 5K: 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 25. Join the Woodland Middle School’s running club as students put on a 5K open to the community. The run will start at Woodland Middle School’s gymnasium at 755 Park St., Woodland. Registration costs $15 for adults, $10 for children and is free for children under the age of 5. A family pass is available for $50. Registration includes snacks and raffle entries. All proceeds benefit the running club. To register, go online to bit.ly/WoodlandWay5K-2023.

Career fair: 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 30. Woodland Public Schools and the Port of Woodland will host a CareerReady Woodland career fair. Local employers will be able to speak with students at Woodland High School. Businesses are invited to send representatives at no cost to attend the event. Daughters of Pioneers meeting: 1130 a.m. for optional lunch at the Puffin Cafe at 14 S. A St. in Washougal, 12:45 p.m. for a special group tour at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum in Washougal on Thursday, April 6. Join the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington Chapter No. 19 for its meeting. To save time at the cafe, please visit its website at www.puffincafe.com to check the menu. The tour will begin when the group arrives at the museum after lunch. Fees for the museum tour are $4 for seniors 60 and over and $5 for those under 60. La Center kindergarten registration: Kindergarten registration in La Center for the upcoming school year will open April 10. Children must turn 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, to enter kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year. Registration is available online at lacenterschools.org or at the elementary office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Parents and guardians must bring their child’s immunization record and a copy of their legal birth certificate. People are asked to register their children as early as possible. La Center Elementary School will also host Kindy Cub Nights for incoming students. They will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on April 20 and May 18. Either night can be attended.  Students and parents will work on activities that will prepare students for school.

Lilac Days: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from Saturday, April 22 through Sunday, May 14. The Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens will host Lilac Days in Woodland. The theme this year is “hats from the past” and collections will be on display in the new barn museum and in the historic house. The Klager house will also reopen this year. Guests can sign up at the gardens for tours of the house from 1 to 4 p.m. Photos and memorabilia of Hulda Klager and her family will be on display at the barn museum. There will be a quilt raffle fundraiser as well. The annual plant sale features lilacs and the gift shop will have lilac-themed items available. Admission to Lilac Days is $5 for adults. Children 12 and under can enter for free. The Lilac Gardens are located at 115 S. Pekin Road in Woodland.

Creative cardmaking class: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10. Join the Battle Ground Senior Citizen group for a creative cardmaking class at the Battle Ground Senior Center, 116 NE Third Ave., Battle Ground. The event is held every other month. Bliss Yoga (Lewisville): 6 to 7:15 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Tukes Valley school stage, Mondays from 6 to 7:15 p.m. and Fridays from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Lewisville Campus gymnasium stage area, 406 NW Fifth Ave., Battle Ground.
