Pumpkin Lane at Pomeroy Farm: Every weekend in October at Pomeroy Farm, 20902 NE Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt. Take a trip down Pumpkin Lane to see pumpkin people vignettes, visit the farm animals and pick pumpkins.

Mad Hatters meeting: 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 8 at Old Town Burger and Breakfast, 813 W. Main St., Battle Ground.

Amateur radio licensing course: Friday, Oct. 8, Saturday, Oct. 9, Friday, Oct. 15 and Saturday, Oct. 16. The Clark County Amateur Radio Club will offer a free four-session course to prepare students for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) technician licensing exam. The technician level radio operator’s license is the first of three amateur licenses offered by the FCC. Friday night sessions will take place from 7 to 9 p.m., while Saturday morning sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All sessions will take place at the Vancouver Stake Center, 10509 SE Fifth St., Vancouver. After a short review during the last Saturday session, the exam will be offered. The course is free, but there is a FCC-required $15 testing fee for the exam. Students are encouraged to purchase, or have access to, the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Ham Radio License Manual, Level 1, technician, Fourth edition. The study guide can be purchased from the instructor for $30 or online from Amazon. Pre-registration is required. To register, contact instructor Delvin Bunton at 360-256-9122 or email ns7u@arrl.net. Elks bingo: 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Battle Ground Elks Chapter No. 2589 Lodge, 907 SE Grace Ave., Battle Ground. The event is open to Elks members and guests.

Hooked on Nature: 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 online. Columbia Springs will hold its annual dinner auction fundraiser, a virtual event to celebrate the environment and the community. Quiltfest Northwest: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Clark County Event Center, 17402 NE Delfel Road, Ridgefield. The 46th annual quilt show, titled “Reflections,” will feature 300 quilts created by members of the Clark County Quilters. The event will also feature special exhibits, challenge quilts, vendors, a fashion show and more. This year’s featured quilter is Mary Arnold. She will teach a six-hour workshop on “Beginning Machine Quilting” on Oct. 22.  To register, go online to quiltfestnw.org. Enrollment will be limited to allow for social distancing. Masks are required. Admission is $8 a day or $15 for a three-day pass. Children under 12 can get in for free. Parking costs $8.
