Battle Ground parks open house: 4-6 p,m., Wednesday, May 8, City Hall Council Chambers, 109 SW First St., Battle Ground. The City of Battle Ground’s Parks and Community Engagement (PACE) Board wants to hear feedback from the community to decide the future of four parks, including the Durkee property. After the open house, at 6 p.m., will be a joint PACE board and Planning Commission meeting to discuss the parks in the same chambers.

Clark County Public Works open house: 6-8 p,m., Wednesday, May 8, Pleasant Valley Middle School, 14320 NE 50th Ave. Public Works will host a public meeting regarding improvements to Northeast 179th Street between Northeast 15th and 26th avenues. Construction is slated to begin in 2028. Residents may join online by visiting the project webpage at shorturl.at/uxyBC, 10 minutes prior to the meeting.

Prairie High Plant Sales: 3-6 p.m., Wednesday-Friday, May 8-10, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, May 11, Prairie High School, 11311 NE 119th St., Vancouver. A variety of annual and perennial bedding and flowering plants, as well as vegetable starts and hanging baskets grown by students and staff, will be available for purchase. Proceeds help fund the Battle Ground Public Schools district agriculture, FFA and welding programs.

Pomeroy Farm Homeschool Open House: 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, and Friday, May 24, 20902 NE Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt. Homeschooled children are welcomed to experience Pomeroy Farm on a self-guided tour suited for second to fifth graders. Tickets cost $7 per student. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Battle Ground Drama Club: 7 p.m., Thursday-Friday,  May 9-10, 1 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 7 p.m., Thursday-Saturday May 16-18, Battle Ground High School, 300 W. Woodland Schools Superintendent Open House: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 9, Woodland High School Room 1204. Woodland Public Schools will introduce Superintendent Asha Riley, who will begin her new position this summer.

La Center Inaugural Arts Fair: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, May 11, La Center Community Center, 1000 E. Fourth St., La Center. Lilac Days 2024: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., daily until Sunday, May 12, Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens, 115 S. Pekin Road, Woodland. The historical Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens are open for the annual Lilac Days event, where the shrubs bloom with purple flowers. A $10 gate fee is payable during the event. BG Community United Methodist Church highway cleanup: 8 a.m.-noon, Saturday, May 18, Battle Ground Community United Methodist Church, 10300 NE 199th St., Battle Ground. Volunteers are invited to the church’s inaugural Adopt-A-Highway cleanup for Highway 503 stretching from Northwest Onsdorff to Northeast 132nd Avenue. The 58th Parade of Bands will proceed down Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue before turning at Northeast 63rd Street toward Northeast Highway 99. Parade entries are open until May 10.
