Annual tree sale set for Saturday in Battle Ground

Posted

Thousands of trees will be offered for sale by the Clark County Farm Forestry Association during an annual public sale set for Saturday, March 18.

The sale will begin at 8 a.m. at the Albertsons parking lot at 2108 W. Main St., Battle Ground.

Trees will be priced at $2 and $3. They will include varieties of fir, cedar, pine, spruce, redwood, ash and maple.

Most trees available at the sale will range in size from 6 inches to 2 feet tall.

Members of the Master Gardener program of Washington State University will be on hand to answer questions about planting and caring for trees.

The Farm Forestry Association, an organization of timber tree farmers, recommends that trees be planted as soon as possible. Trees should be stored in a cool, shady place with roots kept wet until planting.

About 9,000 trees were sold during last year’s tree sale. Proceeds support forestry-oriented projects as well as scholarships.
