Letter to the Editor: Female Ridgefield player should follow her dreams on diamond

Posted

Editor,

My hat is off to Ridgefield athlete Natalie Evans and her passion for baseball. As a former coach in the area, I follow what is happening in Clark County, from near and far. Most of the time, I follow from Europe, where I have been coaching most of the baseball seasons since 2009 in Germany. I was fortunate enough to coach five different USA Baseball teams over the years, and one of them was as the head coach of the 2010 USA Baseball Women’s National Team in the world championships in Caracas, Venezuela. It is always very special representing your country in worldwide competitions. I do hope Natalie is aware such a thing exists for her and her passion for the game. Best of luck to her and the girls who battle on the diamonds around the world. I would love to see another Clark County resident experience what I was so fortunate to be included in — a lifetime highlight for sure.
