In Loving Memory Of Kevin Meck 1964 ~ 2024

Posted

It is with a heavy heart that we share, Kevin Thomas Meck, 59, of Battle Ground, Washington, suddenly passed away the morning of Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Kevin was born to Bill Meck and Margaret Moses on Dec. 28, 1964, in Fort Worth, Texas. As a young man, Kevin spent time riding his dirt bike, driving sports cars with his uncles, camping and cruising town with friends. Kevin attended Battle Ground High School, where he met his wife, Sherri. They married on July 31, 1987. The family was complete with the arrival of sons Tanner and Trevor.

Kevin worked for the Clark County Road Maintenance Department for nearly 25 years. There, he gained the title of Sign Crew Chief. Kevin, along with many coworkers he spoke highly of, kept the roads safe for our families not just during routine construction, but also during the night in response to traffic accidents, downed trees and power outages.

Kevin will be remembered for his hard work and reliability as both an employee and friend.

He was a best friend with a big heart and a contagious laugh. He loved jokes. Even his own were hilarious! Annual vacations with friends to any place warm and sunny was something he looked forward to. Kevin’s goal was to retire with his wife, Sherri, and snowbird where the sun would shine and summer felt year-round. A retirement that was a ceaseless vacation.

Kevin held several honorable titles: husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, cousin and adored friend. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Sherri; their two sons, Trevor and Tanner; Tanner’s wife, Amber, and their son, Landon; his parents, Bill (Bobbie) Meck, and Margaret (Charlie) Moses; and his mother-in-law, Ramona Davis.

Kevin is survived by many others, including his sister, Susan (Scott) Knighten, and children, Wyatt Knighten, Cody (Nicole) Meck and their son, Jayden; brother-in-law, Sam (Debi) Davis, and children, Christy (Cody) Walton, and children, Brody, Logan and Jayden; son, Wesley Goff; son, Jace; son, Josh (Emily) Goff; daughter; Mira; and step-siblings; Dorthey Zacherle, Dewane Moses, Carl Moses, David Moses, Deanne Myers, Christy Parker and Gena Humphrey.

Kevin had several cousins and extended family members he loved dearly, as well as friends he called family. Kevin was preceded in death by his cousin, Keith Meck.

Kevin valued time with his family most. Memories of camping, boating, snowmobiling at the family cabin, dinner out and just watching a movie at home will be cherished. He greatly admired his sons for their accomplishments, often ending calls with “I’m proud of you, buddy!” Kevin’s time with his grandson was short, just shy of his third birthday, but in that time a special bond was built over Jeeps (especially grandpa Kevin’s), a variety of sweet treats and yellow tractors.

Our family would like to thank everyone for all the kind words and prayers. They have helped us to navigate this heart-breaking process.
