Area nurseries offer a variety of products and services

As temperatures begin to climb, interest in the surrounding budding and blossoming vegetation increases. 

Spring fever has created a bustle of activity at area plant nurseries; as consumers initiate plans for beautifying their homes and landscaping. Mother’s Day only adds to that flurry of activity.

2. CHAPMAN’S GREENHOUSE

Hours: Open daily 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

3. HALFMOONFARM

4. SCENTED ACRES

Specialities: Two passions: lavender and hummingbirds. We offer many varieties of lavender, hummingbird and butterfly-attracting plants, most of which you can see in our bird and butterfly garden. Our rustic gift shop is stocked with lavender lotions, soaps, oils, hand-sewn pillows and sachets, as well as lavender culinary products.

5. CASCADE GREENHOUSE

Specialities: One of the best selection, quality and prices around! Spring color! Baskets, annuals and perennials. 6. AITKEN’S SALMON CREEK GARDEN

Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Specialities: 5 acres of irises ranging from water irises to deep shade irises and everything in between. Iris bloom from April through June followed by re-bloom varieties until freeze up. Catalog available at the garden or order from shopping cart on line. Extensive orchid collection with many varieties for sale year round (call for appointment). Orchid potting and supplies available with plant identification and culture sheets.

7 BIRD’S ENGLISH GARDEN & NURSERY

Hours: Open 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. daily

Specialities: Seven acres of plant material and greenhouses bursting with vibrancy and color. Thousands of annuals and perennials; full range of plants available from native to rare and exotic. 8. SALMON CREEK NURSERY

Specialities: Landscaping plants. We keep our prices low by propagating and growing most of the plants and trees we sell. With our low overhead, we can sell at wholesale prices direct to the public. Specialties: All Season Plants started strictly as a plant procurement company in 2007. In 2013 we purchased Southridge Nursery and are now open for retail, while still providing service to our wholesale customers.
