Six people displaced after house fire in rural North Clark County

Two adults and four children were displaced from their home after a structure fire took place in rural North Clark County on Thursday, July 14. 

Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue was dispatched to the call at 311 Circle in North Clark County shortly before 3 p.m.

A news release from CCFR stated the response was delayed because the location of the fire was not immediately known and access was limited.

“The reporting party was a significant distance away with no clear address for the incident,” stated the release.

When firefighters arrived, they found a well involved manufactured home. The fire spread to nearby vehicles, stated the release.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The displaced people are being assisted by the American Red Cross, stated the release. 



Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue was assisted by Clark County Fire District 3, Clark County Fire District 10, North Counrty EMS, the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office and Clark PUD.

A total of five engines, one tower ladder, three water tenders and one ambulance responded to the fire. Personnel on scene included four chief officers, one fire marshal and one public information officer, stated the release. 

Some of the firefighters remained on scene for several hours to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. They helped salvage any contents of the home that could be saved.

“Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue reminds citizens to make sure they have working smoke alarms and clear access to their home for emergency vehicles,” stated the release.
