I have been a Ridgefield resident for 30 years now. My draw to this area, like most residents and visitors, were the vast open fields, wildlife and dark skies to stargaze.
As Ridgefield continues to develop my hope is to have a dark sky community. Where I used to look north the skies were dark. Over the last 10 years the northern dark sky view is no longer dark as it is filled with light pollution. Our view now is only a bright glow in the northern sky.
Ridgefield has always educated and supported bird migrations and our beautiful waterways. We have several wildlife preserves. Why is Ridgefield not implementing a Dark Sky community?
