An estimated 20,000 people attended the Battle Ground 3rd of July Celebration hosted by Maddox Industrial Transformer.
The event celebrated both 250 years as an independent nation and 75 years since Battle Ground became an incorporated town. The event, now in its fourth year, continues to grow. More than 10,000 free ice cream scoops were served in just the first couple of hours.
Attendees at the family-friendly event were treated to free hot dogs, ice cream, water, soda and more. Stage entertainment was followed by a powerful performance of the national anthem, transforming immediately to a 25-minute professional fireworks show that dazzled the night sky.
After the fireworks show, adding to the magic was a rare appearance of nature’s fireworks that ended up dazzling the northern sky. The aurora borealis (northern lights) hued a soft purple and green.
Disclosure: The owners of The Reflector, the Spiller family, also have an ownership interest in Maddox Industrial Transformers. This relationship is disclosed for transparency.
