Fargher LakeHouse Restaurant, 13 minutes from Battle Ground on SR 503 and 8 minutes from Amboy, across from the Fargher Lake Store. I am a really great cook and I have prepared meals from scratch since I left home, and rarely eat out unless the food is as good as I can prepare or better.
I tested this new place by ordering the meatloaf, something very difficult to impress me with. It was a combination of tenderloin and Chorizo, wrapped in bacon, with a light tomato sauce with small roasted tomatoes on some delicately braised broccoli and carrots with a perfectly baked potato, and beautifully presented.
The flourless chocolate cake was the best I have tasted – light, not too sweet, and presented with whip cream, because I said I don’t like fruit sauce. Great friendly service too. I will certainly return again. A wonderful experience.
