The Clark County Newcomers Club’s July 11 meeting included a large donation.

The club presented Hope Dementia with a check for $7,210 to help the organization as it continues to change lives. Hope Dementia is a support group that assists individuals suffering with dementia as well as their caregivers.

This donation will make it possible to continue funding programs, workshops and resources for their therapeutic activity boxes,” a release by the Clark County Newcomers Club stated. “Funds were raised through a variety of activities including a Holiday Shop with handcrafted goods, a Who Dunnit mystery and scavenger hunt.”

As the Clark County Newcomers Club enters the new fiscal year, its membership stands at 388, according to Donna Maple, publicity chair for the club.

The club added in their release that plans will be made to celebrate the club’s 70th anniversary next year as well as activities to support their new fiscal year charity, Cascadia Tech Academy.
