Two ballot drop boxes in Battle Ground and Ridgefield have been moved to new locations prior to the Aug. 2 primary election.

The 24-hour ballot drop box that was located at Battle Ground City Hall is now located at the Battle Ground Post Office, 418 W. Main St., next to the United States Postal Service’s blue mailboxes. The other ballot drop box which was located at a cul-de-sac off Interstate 5 at the Ridgefield exit is now located at the Ridgefield Junction Park and Ride, 125 N. 65th Ave. It’s located on the north side of the parking lot.

The Clark County Auditor’s Office began mailing ballots for the Aug. 2 primary election on July 15 to all registered voters in the county. People who use a ballot drop box must deposit their ballots no later than 8 p.m. on election day.

Ballots that are mailed need to be postmarked on or before Aug. 2.

“If you are returning your ballot after Wednesday, July 27, it is recommended you return it to one of the ballot drop boxes,” stated a news release. “If taking your ballot inside the post office on election day, you must ask the clerk to postmark your ballot.”

An online voters’ guide and sample ballot that lists the candidates and ballot measures for the upcoming election is available online at the elections office website at clarkvotes.org. A list of ballot drop locations can be found online at clark.wa.gov/elections/ballot-de posit-locations. A list of drop box locations is also available on the voting instructions found inside the ballot packet, stated the release.

Anyone who does not receive a ballot by July 21 should contact the elections office at 564-397-2345 to request a replacement.

While replacement ballots can be requested in person at the elections office, staff encourages people to request a replacement by email or phone. Replacement ballots can also be requested or accessed electronically at votewa.gov to print out and return by mail or drop box.

Email requests should be sent to elections@clark.wa.gov. The mailing address is Clark County Elections Office, P.O. Box 8815, Vancouver, WA, 98666-8815.

The deadline to submit new voter registrations and voter updates to existing registrations online or by mail is 5 p.m. on Monday, July 25.

Voters can still register and update existing voter registrations after July 25 but will need to do so in person by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2. The elections office is located at 1408 Franklin St., Vancouver.

The process of preparing the ballot tabulation system which produces election results will begin at 7:15 p.m. on election day. Results will be posted on clarkvotes.org around 8:15 p.m., stated the release.
