Ronda Knapp, 48, was arrested on a charge of vehicular homicide and booked into the Clark County Jail on May 10 following an investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit into a single-vehicle collision that occurred on Feb. 4, 2022, in the 26700 block of NE Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt.
The collision resulted in the death of Steven Woolsey, 51, who was a passenger in the 2000 Toyota Tacoma being operated by Knapp. The vehicle exited the roadway to the south and collided with several trees. Knapp sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the collision. The incident remains under investigation by the traffic unit. Clark County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the collision with Clark County Fire Districts 3, 13, and North Country EMS ambulance.
