Wisdom Ridge Academy expands education options for Ridgefield families

Wisdom Ridge Academy is offering Ridgefield families expanded options for homeschooling and alternative education for the 2026-27 school year, including a new hybrid program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
The K-6 hybrid program allows students to attend Wisdom Ridge two days a week for two-hour classroom sessions while completing most of their learning at home. Ridgefield School District teachers provide curriculum, academic support and oversight in partnership with parents, according to a news release from the Ridgefield School District.
The program has three groups: Nestlings for kindergarten students, Scholars for grades 1-3 and Voyagers for grades 4-6. Nestlings and Scholars focus on STEM subjects, while Voyagers incorporate social studies, art and English language arts.
“We’re not here to try to take homeschooling away from them,” Wisdom Ridge Academy Principal Susan Smith said in the release. “We value it, and we want you to continue to do it, but we’re here to support you if you would like the support.”
Wisdom Ridge also offers RidgeConnect, which provides homeschooling families with curriculum, resources and licensed teacher support. This year, the school added a K-12 counselor and new high school opportunities, including in-person math and hands-on Career and Technical Education programming.
