Washington State Patrol conducts Clark County emphasis patrol

Dozens of drivers in Clark County were stopped during a Washington State Patrol (WSP) emphasis patrol on Tuesday, July 15, aimed at reducing collision-related violations.

The patrol was guided by agency data identifying peak crash times and locations, a news release from WSP stated.

Over the course of several hours, troopers stopped 97 vehicles and issued 113 citations. Violations included speeding, improper lane usage, use of electronic devices and failure to wear a seat belt. Eight commercial vehicles were stopped and inspected.

Fifteen WSP units participated in the patrol, including the Target Zero Team, Motors Unit, Commercial Vehicle Division and traffic safety personnel. The coordinated effort focused on improving road safety throughout the region.
