Area prep golfers take on Royal Oaks Country Club for Clark County Cup

High School golfers from various high schools around Clark County converged at Royal Oaks Country Club in Vancouver on Monday, Oct. 5.

Now in its third year, the Clark County Cup offers a rare opportunity for high school golfers to play at Royal Oaks, a pristine, private country club. Along with the specialness of hitting the private links, rival golfers partner together in the match play event as the green team and the blue team battle it out.

This year the green team won after a 4-4 tie on the course. The deciding factor was settled by a 75-foot putt-off with Ridgefield’s Brody Newcombe finishing closest by about 6-inches over King’s Way Christian High School’s Christian Harlow.
