Battle Ground School Board members John Idsinga and Steve Pagel attended their last school board meeting as board members on Dec. 9. The two did not seek re-election to their positions in the November general election.
During the Dec. 9 meeting, Idsinga and Pagel were recognized for their service to the community. Interim Superintendent Duane Rose presented each of them with a plaque for their years of service. Both Pagel and Idsinga also served two terms each as president of the board.
Also during the Dec. 9 meeting, the two new recently-elected board members, Stephanie McClintock and Jim Pegoraro, took their oath of office. Board Member Monty Anderson, who was re-elected to his current position this past November, also took his oath of office. Pegoraro replaces Idsinga as the director of District 3 and was sworn in by Idsinga; McClintock replaces Pagel as the director of District 5 and was sworn in by Pagel. Anderson was sworn in by Rose.
After being sworn in, board members then elected a president and vice president for 2014 and the remainder of 2013. The board selected Anderson as president and Board Member Ken Root as vice president.
