Tourism grants available in Battle Ground

Posted

To increase positive economic impacts, the city of Battle Ground is offering grants to establish local programs in hopes of attracting tourists.

The grants will contribute funds for program advertising, special events and activities scheduled for 2022, according to a news release. Past award winners used the grant to create wayfinding signs, purchase marketing materials and run event operations.

Those interested must complete an application including a proposed budget, an event summary and reasons the plan supports tourism, states the release. The city is accepting applications now until August 31 at 5 p.m.

The Battle Ground Lodging Tax Advisory Committee allocated $55,000 for awards, according to the release. City council members will make the final decision of grant funding in November.
