Stormwater Partners of Southwest Washington is accepting entries for its sixth annual Students for Clean Water Video Contest, inviting Clark County middle and high school students to create short videos promoting watershed stewardship.

Students in grades 6 through 12 may submit 25- to 60-second videos focused on water pollution prevention, environmental justice, stewardship or personal connections to water. Entries are due Friday, April 17, according to a Clark County news release.

Local organizations are sponsoring five first-place prizes of $500 each and five honorable mention prizes of $100 each. Awards will be given across multiple categories, including:

  • Protecting Water in Our Community: A 25- to 40-second or 45- to 60-second video highlighting infrastructure or actions that protect watersheds.
  • Community Storytelling: A video exploring a student’s personal or cultural connection to water.
  • Clean Water for All: A video examining environmental justice related to water resources.
  • People’s Choice: Awarded to the video with the most views, likes and comments from May 11 to May 18.

Winning videos will be shared on Stormwater Partners’ social media platforms and screened at summer movie-in-the-park events, the news release stated.
