A crash injured an Oregon man Friday afternoon after authorities say he crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a diesel work truck near Lewis River Mini Storage at 2422 Lewis River Rd. in Woodland.
The crash occurred at about 2:20 p.m., near milepost 51, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol.
Elder Morris, 60, of Carlton, Oregon, was headed north in a 2021 Ram truck, and crossed into the southbound lane, striking the diesel truck driven by Gerry W. McDonald, 52, of Castle Rock, the memo states.
At the same time, Neil C. Brinson, 52, of Woodland, was headed north in a green 2025 Toyota Tacoma truck and struck debris left in the roadway from the crash.
A 2019 white Chevy Silverado truck, driven by Jacob G. Dailey, 29, of Toledo, was headed south, and hit a tire that had fallen off the Ram.
Only Morris was injured, according to the memo. He was sent to Legacy Salmon Creek in Vancouver.
He was also cited for improper lane usage, the memo states. Intoxicants didn’t play a role in the crash.
