A small SUV carrying 10 teenagers from Prairie High School spun off the road, rolled multiple times and came to a rest on the shore of Salmon Creek on Thursday, May 19.
The vehicle came to a rest under the Interstate 5 bridge. A news release stated the wreck took place on 117th Street in Salmon Creek.
“Authorities say it is a miracle that no one was killed in this crash and they caution young drivers to drive responsibly,” stated the release.
Witnesses said the vehicle was traveling at least 70 mph and was driving erratically, stated the release.
All of the occupants attend Prairie High School, stated the release, which is not near the accident scene.
No fatalities were reported, but seven out of the 10 passengers were transported to area hospitals. Three people refused transportation.
Three fire engines and multiple firefighters from Clark County Fire District 6 responded to the wreck which was reported after 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 19. Multiple ambulances from AMR also responded.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident and charges are possible, stated the release.
