A 15-year-old Yacolt girl has died following a crash in Clark County that claimed the life of a 16-year-old Napavine girl on Monday when a vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the car they were traveling in head-on, according to the Washington State Patrol.

WSP has not identified either of the teens.

David R. Zarb, 46, of La Center, is expected to face charges of vehicular homicide and three counts of vehicular assault after the crash, which occurred at about 1:28 p.m. on state Route 503. The state patrol reported that drugs or alcohol are believed to have played a factor.

Both teens were traveling as passengers in a southbound Mazda3 when a northbound 2011 Ford F-150 driven by Zarb crossed the centerline and struck the car. Both vehicles came to rest in the southbound lane.

The driver of the Mazda, a 15-year-old girl from Yacolt, was injured and transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center along with the 15-year-old female passenger who has since died and 66-year-old passenger Danlette Yato, 66, of Yacolt.

Zarb was also taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and later appeared in court on Tuesday.

Both vehicles were totaled.
