Scott Foster has been named the chief executive for PeaceHealth Medical Group.

Foster started at PeaceHealth in 2014 as the medical director for the specialty care department and served in multiple leadership roles over the past eight years, stated a news release. The release stated Foster has demonstrated leadership skills as the interim chief executive for the company over the past few months while also leading growth in PeaceHealth’s service lines and network, which enables them to create value for the patients and communities they serve.

“With our patients squarely at the center of our decisions, I’m looking forward to deepening our efforts to care for our communities. We will relentlessly strengthen our identity as the group known for its deep expertise and exceptional relationships,” stated Foster in the release. “PeaceHealth Medical Group will continue to collaborate across the whole health care system, constantly finding ways to improve health and better care for people where they live, work and play.”

According to the release, Foster was born and raised in the United Kingdom. He attended medical school in Glasgow, Scotland. After he started a surgical residency, Foster then switched careers to focus on emergency medicine, which he practiced in Scotland and New Zealand. Once he earned his master’s degree in public health, health services policy and administration from Oregon State University, Foster served in multiple director and executive positions at Providence Health & Services in Oregon before he joined PeaceHealth.

Foster is based at PeaceHealth’s system office in Vancouver, stated the release.
