The City of Ridgefield is seeking name suggestions from the community for a new park under development near North Royle Road.
The 15-acre park’s first phase of construction is slated for completion in 2025, is situated within the Paradise Pointe Subdivision, a news release by the City of Ridgefield stated.
During initial development, the city referred to the park as ‘Paradise Pointe Park,’ but the similarity in names and proximity to Paradise Point State Park could cause confusion. To create a name that resonates with the community, the City of Ridgefield chose to launch a public engagement process to officially name the park, the release stated.
The final park’s plan intends to strike a balance between recreation and ecological preservation. The park features soft-surface trails, wildlife viewing structures and raptor nesting platforms, the news release stated.
To submit a name suggestion, visit shorturl.at/tndNU. Submissions will be open through Wednesday, April 30. A shortlist of names from the submission will be selected and presented to the public for feedback later in the process.
