Ridgefield School District honors April employees and students of the month

The Ridgefield School District (RSD) recognized its April 2025 employees and students of the month during its most recent school board meeting. Two employees and seven students across all grade levels were honored.

Jared Hundley, CTE teacher, Ridgefield High School

Jared Hundley brings the fun to Ridgefield High School. He is a talented member of the faculty and has adapted to many roles. “Jared is a huge asset to our staff and he helps in so many different ways–helping staff with their course videos, creating visual products and any material we may need. Jared leads our staff as one of the ‘Commissioners of Staff Fun,’ complete with stickers and other memorabilia,” a press release by RSD stated. For his willingness to serve and humble spirit, Hundley earned this month’s employee recognition award.

Meghan Green, speech-language pathologist, Sunset Ridge Intermediate School

Meghan Green is a caring, dedicated staff member at Sunset Ridge Intermediate School. Green works hard to develop meaningful relationships at the school with students and staff. She works hard to make every student feel valued, and frequently steps up to lead social activities at the school. “Meghan’s presence is felt throughout the school, whether she is checking in on students having a tough day, collaborating with staff or bringing joy to the Life Skills classroom,” the press release stated.

Ashton Shipp, Pre-K, Early Learning Center

Ashton Shipp is a dependable and thoughtful classmate who brings joy to his Early Learning Center class with his jokes and bright smile. He is a curious learner and a helpful teacher’s assistant. “He is kind, caring and a great friend who includes everyone in play and makes sure his classmates feel happy and safe. We are so lucky to have Ashton in our class!” Shipp’s teacher stated in the press release.

Sofia Tucker, first grade, South Ridge Elementary School

Sofia Tucker is a responsible and respectful student who helps others and often guides classroom discussions at South Ridge Elementary School. “She is resilient, never giving up when faced with challenges. And she is respectful, treating everyone with kindness and a big smile,” her teacher stated in the press release. Each day, she brings a positive attitude to class and leads by example.

Kinleigh Flatz, second grade, Wisdom Ridge Academy



Kinleigh Flatz transferred to Wisdom Ridge Academy to better manage her anxiety and has begun blossoming into a well-rounded, travel-savvy student. “Kinleigh has an outstanding work ethic and a positive attitude,” her teacher said in the press release. In class, Flatz’s favorite subject is mathematics. Outside of school, she enjoys horseback riding and playing piano. In the future, she hopes to attend beauty school.

Faelan Proctor, fourth grade, Union Ridge Elementary School

Academic dedication has paid off for Union Ridge Elementary School student Faelan Proctor, as his excellence across music, art and English earned him accolades this month. “Faelan goes above and beyond on his projects, applying new skills with creativity and intention. And when things don’t go as planned, which happens in the creative process, he stays flexible and positive, finding a way to move forward,” his teacher stated in the press release.

Ariani Martinez, sixth grade, Sunset Ridge Intermediate School

Ariani Martinez is a resilient and motivated student at Sunset Ridge Intermediate School. This month, her creativity, artistic talents and determination set her apart. “In the classroom, Ari demonstrates responsibility through her focused approach to learning and dedication to her studies. Her hard work is evident in everything she does,” Martinez’s teacher stated in the press release. Her greatest quality, according to her teachers, is her respectful nature. Her listening skills and team-building attitude make her a valued member of the classroom.

Echo Kimball, eighth grade, View Ridge Middle School

Echo Kimball stands out at View Ridge Middle School for her leadership, responsibility and kindness. “Echo is a natural leader and incredibly kind. She comes to class every day with a focused, hard-working attitude. Echo is personable and always willing to help her classmates,” her history teacher, Justin Nelson, stated in the press release. Kimball is a joy in the classroom, bringing a wonderful sense of humor and positivity to share with her peers and teachers.

Ryley Adams, 11th grade, Ridgefield High School

Ryley Adams has excelled academically at Ridgefield High School, and her teachers are excited for the bright future ahead. “Ryley regularly participates, asks insightful questions and remains determined, demonstrating a level of resilience that others can only aspire to. Her commitment to learning not only contributes to her personal growth but also serves as an inspiration to those around her,” her teacher stated in the press release. Adams hopes to work in robotics for NASA or in game development at Nintendo.
