Ridgefield Raptors outfielder Zach Wadas was named the West Coast League Player of the Week for June 15-21 after helping the South Division-leading Raptors post a 5-1 record during the week.

Wadas, a Loyola Marymount University standout, batted .375, going 9-for-24 at the plate with two doubles and three home runs. He drove in 10 runs, drew five walks, scored twice and stole two bases.

The Raptors slugger finished the week with an .833 slugging percentage and a 1.316 OPS. Wadad edged out Sawyer Nelson of the Marion Berries for the weekly honor, the West Coast League stated.

During the Raptors’ game on Wednesday, June 24, Wadas hit a double in the seventh inning, extending his hitting streak to 14 games, a new franchise record for the longest consecutive games with a hit.

The West Coast League is in its 21st season and is regarded as one of North America’s premier summer collegiate baseball leagues.
