The Ridgefield Lions Club collected about 100 handwritten notes for service members and raised $500 for military care packages during the Ridgefield Fourth of July Celebration.
The notes and care packages will be distributed to service members deploying through Joint Base Lewis-McChord near Tacoma as part of the club's Operation Lionheart program.
Operation Lionheart has a fundraising goal of $5,000 for care packages. Donations can be made through the Ridgefield Lions Club at ridgefieldlions.org.
