The Ridgefield City Council has awarded a $915,542.47 contract to Anderson Environmental Contracting, LLC, of Kelso, to clean up contaminated parcels on Main Street. The cleanup location includes the former Park Laundry site at 122 N. Main Ave.

The cleanup, funded primarily by $2.3 million in state grants, will address contamination on the city-owned Park Laundry parcel and adjacent lots, with the city covering up to 10% of the project costs. Council approval included a $100,000 contingency fund to ensure comprehensive site remediation. Crews will clean the groundwater, currently contaminated by chemicals used during the site’s tenure as a laundry facility.
