Public hearing set for Ridgefield, Yacolt 2025 proposed budgets

The Ridgefield City Council will hold a public hearing and review its proposed budget for possible approval at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.

The city’s budget will start with $49.1 million allocated across capital, operations, debt service, and operating funds. Ridgefield anticipates $63.9 million in revenue for the year, with planned expenses reaching $86.9 million. Of these expenses, $31 million is earmarked for capital projects and equipment replacements. The projected ending balance for 2025 is $18.9 million.

Yacolt

Yacolt will hold its public budget hearings at 7 p.m. at the regular Town Council meetings on Tuesday, Nov. 18, and Tuesday, Dec. 9. The town held a prior hearing on Nov. 12. Yacolt’s budget may be approved as early as Tuesday, Nov. 18, a news release by the Town of Yacolt stated.

Yacolt’s 2025 budget includes provisions to further bolster the town’s Public Works Department and improve infrastructure. If the budget is approved as-is, the Public Works Department’s part-time employee will become a full-time staff member, the news release by Yacolt stated.
