Clark County Public Health is investigating a measles outbreak after six additional cases were reported in Clark County.
The new cases are connected to the measles case announced Jan. 23 involving an adult Clark County resident who visited Ridgefield High School while contagious on Jan. 14, 15 and 16, according to a Clark County news release published Feb. 3.
Public Health officials said the six new cases were exposed in non-public locations and no new public exposure sites have been identified as of press time. Five of the new cases are younger than 18 and one is an adult. Five were unvaccinated and one had an unverified vaccination status.
Health officials are urging residents who are not protected against measles to get vaccinated and to contact their health care provider if they are unsure of their vaccination status. Vaccination records are also available through the state’s MyIR Mobile system at myirmobile.com.
