Prairie Volleyball earns fifth at state tournament

Prairie High School’s volleyball team exceeded their eighth-seed expectations and claimed a fifth-place finish in the 3A state volleyball tournament at the Yakima Valley SunDome on Saturday, Nov. 18.

In the opening round, Prairie beat ninth seed Gig Harbor by three straight sets. The Falcons then fell 3-1 to the No. 1-seeded North Thurston High School in the quarterfinals.

After that loss, the best possible outcome for the Falcons was fifth.. To get into that match the Falcons beat 12th seed Auburn Riverside in three-straight sets.



In the fifth place match, the Falcons swept Mt. Spokane High School.

Prairie Volleyball finished the season 21-4.
