Auditions for Love Street Playhouse’s upcoming performance of “The Miracle Worker” will open at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24, at Love Street Playhouse, 126 Loves Ave., Woodland.
Play performance dates will run from Feb. 14 to March 9. Exact performance times will be announced at a later date, a press release by Love Street Playhouse stated.

“The Miracle Worker,” written by William Gibson, tells the story of Helen Keller’s journey to learning communication as a blind and deaf individual. Teacher Annie Sullivan is hired to tutor Keller. After many weeks, the pair reaches a breakthrough that allows them to communicate. Keller then begins to experience the joys that life with communication can bring, the press release stated.

Auditioners should bring a headshot photo — nonprofessional is fine, a personal calendar and an optional theater resume to the auditions. Participants will need to fill out an information sheet before performing a reading from the play script, the release stated.

Auditions will include cold readings from the script. No monologues are required. People should arrive a few minutes before 6:30 p.m. to fill out an informational sheet. Selected individuals will receive callbacks for 6:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25, the press release stated.

Love Street Playhouse is casting for 10 roles, with extras available for children ages 8 through 15. People are encouraged to practice before auditioning.
