Local school faculty and volunteers honored as 2024 ‘Learn Here Heroes’

School faculty and volunteers across northern Clark County recently received the “Learn Here Heroes” award by Identity Clark County. The award is part of the Learn Here Project, an effort to showcase the local education system and its leaders, a press release by Identity Clark County on Oct. 28 stated.

“We are so appreciative of those who go above and beyond for our students and schools,” Learn Here Project supporter Chad Sessions said in the press release. “These are the everyday heroes who work tirelessly to help prepare our next generation of citizens and workers.”

During the Learn Here Project ceremony, 26 teachers and volunteers received awards, the press release stated.

North Clark County “Learn Here Heroes” faculty recipients:

Elizabeth Fortier, English teacher, Hockinson High School

Elizabeth Marshall, district data coordinator, La Center High School

Donna Allen, counselor, View Ridge Middle School

Karen Guenther, English teacher, Summit View High School



Dr. Michele Cruse, vice president of Student Affairs, Clark College

North Clark County “Learn Here Heroes” volunteer recipients:

Jennifer Foster, Hockinson High School

Amanda Aseph, La Center School District

Bill Baumann, Ridgefield School District

Nonprofit organization Identity Clark County is composed of local business leaders seeking to strengthen the community. Its creation of the Learn Here Project aims to showcase the quality of the local education system and attract businesses and individuals considering relocation to the region, the press release stated.
