The Lewis River Rotary Club will host a Peace Pole dedication at Central Park in Battle Ground at 11 a.m. on May 14.

Mike Robinson, chairman of the club’s community service committee, worked with Mayor Philip Johnson and city council members after the rotary club adopted Central Park. Rotary member Linda Allen said the team recently transplanted Citizen of the Year roses into the garden beds and made other improvements to the park as well.

Allen said the mayor will do his best to attend the event and one city council member confirmed they are going. A number of students from Battle Ground Public Schools will be involved in the ceremony as well as members of the Rotary Club.

Central Park is located at 414 E. Main St. in Battle Ground. For more information, call Allen at 360-607-4920.
