Letter to the editor: Woodland trailer park is shortsighted

Posted

A trailer park on Belmont Loop? What a lousy plan! With all the fields available in Woodland, why drop a 3-acre trailer park in the middle of a dozen neighborhood shops? It is so incompatible with the surrounding businesses that several of them have already stated that they will move if this project goes forward. Every business on the loop has objected to this at city meetings.

With only three jobs available, the trailer park falls far short of Woodland’s own job forecast of 20 jobs per acre. Why not a high end restaurant or emergency care office that would offer many more jobs, contribute to the tax base and enhance the whole city?

A trailer park is shortsighted and inexplicable at this location.
