Letter to the editor: This community invests in its schools

Posted

My family’s story started in Ridgefield eight years ago when my husband and I first moved here with our 3-month-old daughter. Right away we knew this place was special and found the place where we wanted to raise our family. Two years later we built our forever home in Ridgefield. We didn’t want to raise our family anywhere else. Ridgefield became our future.

We now have two daughters in the Ridgefield School District, one who is a third grader at Union Ridge and one who is in pre-K at the Early Learning Center. Our girls get to witness every single day, teachers, staff and members of the community, coming together for the sole purpose of giving every student at Ridgefield a lasting educational experience that will stay with them long past their K-12 career.

The community in Ridgefield is rare. This is a community that comes together and makes things happen. Now is the time for our community to come together once again and give the current and future students of Ridgefield something that is desperately needed.

If you look at Ridgefield’s longstanding history, this community invests in its schools to give students a quality and memorable education. Join me in voting yes for proposition 7 on Feb. 8. As a community, we can come together, like we always have, and invest in the students, current and future, of Ridgefield. Let’s do this Ridgefield.

Kalin Heath,
