Letter to the editor: Six justices dared to resist death-loving forces

What an entity gives, it can take away. That is true for parents, legislators, governments, etc. The Supreme Court of the United States determined and made law in the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, not the legislators of our 50 states. This error it made, it therefore has the responsibility to correct. And that is what it just did.

With this decision now, that same entity returns the right to make the decision on abortion back to the states, where it was originally. Obviously, some states, like Washington, Oregon and California are determined to continue operating under the old SCOTUS 1973 error. Thus, for those three states, there is no change.

Here is an example of the double-talk from the California governor:

“This is another devastating step toward erasing the rights and liberties Americans have fought for on battlefields, in courthouses and in capitols. This is not the America we know — and it’s not the California way,” said Gov. Gavin Newsom.

We are once more being given fabrications as truth. No one “fought on the battlefields, in courthouses” for the right to kill one’s own children, that I am aware of. Rather this was a fiat decision based on the opinion of a few judges that gave us the legal right to kill our own children — not a decision of the legislatures, who are the representatives of the people in these 50 states.

The Oregon governor says, “Abortion is health care.” This is a new, distorted definition of “health care,” the killing of the weak to satisfy the wishes of the strong. As Darwin said, the survival of the fittest. This had been the common practice before Christianity appeared on the scene. So, therefore, this is not progression but regression. We are going backwards to the days of human sacrificing to appease the gods. Many cultures did this regularly. Study history.

Thank God for the strength, clarity, courage, wisdom and value system of these six justices who dared to resist the death-loving forces in our society and stand for life, for truth, for logic, for reality, for this reasoned decision.

God has not abandoned America to her own feeble faith in the elevation of the freedom to choose, even to choose the death of another human being for one’s own purposes and desires — not yet.
