Letter to the editor: Response to letter proof of thought police

Posted

I see that my letter on Nov. 26 caused a strong reaction from Rachel Cristaudo and Bob Passera.

The letter was an obvious satire commenting on our current culture. But because of that I was labeled backwards, homophobic, transphobic, misogynist, fearful, hateful, cult-like and of course brainwashed, and that was all before breakfast.

I find it interesting folks on the left are quick to label anyone who disagrees with them as hateful.  It’s an obvious attempt at suppressing the truth. The next step is to employ hate laws that are currently used in Europe to stamp out any dissent.

It’s not enough to be tolerant of activity that for 4,000 years has been considered perverted, but now you can’t even disagree with it in a public forum such as The Reflector.

I am hesitant to use the comparison of the book “1984,” but that’s the first thing my backward brain can come up with, where The Ministry of Truth spills out their daily lies of “doublespeak” and the citizens are under constant surveillance by the thought police. The only error in the book is that it should have been labeled “2019.” The new edition is sure to be authored by the likes of Ms. Cristaudo, Director of Truth Enforcement.

As for Bob Passera and his wanting to bring religion into the debate, he contends that “Jesus accepted all, even the people with alphabetized sexual leanings.”  Bob, you clearly don’t know your Bible. Just look up Romans 1 or 1 Corinthians 6:9  for clarification. I don’t have it in for gay people, but I do object to the group think that homosexuality is a valid alternative lifestyle.

It’s not, and the almost 1 million men that have died from AIDS proves my point. It’s also reprehensible for authorities to be bringing it into schools and libraries. It’s clearly a sin like many other sins, but it can also be repented of.
