Letter to the editor: Governor must veto out of control taxation

Posted

I woke from a dream and realized the state Democrats have taxed Washington state citizens into bankruptcy.

The state has a spending problem, not a tax problem. It is very simple: if people have more money in their bank accounts, they will spend more, and the state would collect more revenues. But, no, the dream was a nightmare. The Democrats robbed every citizen of their hard-earned money.

They raised the gas tax to one of the highest in the nation. This will drive up cost in goods as everything is transported by trucks or trains.

They are raising property tax. They want to tax you out of your home, and rent will increase for renters as well.

They double the cost of the Discovery Pass, increase liquor costs, among many other products, to fund their pet projects and give back to their donors.

The same Democrats tell us boys are girls and that pronouns are important. It is OK for boys to use girls’ locker rooms and bathrooms.

We need common sense and family values back into schools. Children need to be taught the basics and job skills. It is time for Bob Ferguson to veto the Democrats’ taxation without the vote of the people.

If Democrats stay in charge in this socialist state, no one can afford to live here. Turn out the lights, and hopefully the nightmare will end if the governor does the right thing and vetos the bills.
