Letter to the editor: Article should have clearly conveyed cost to taxpayers

Posted

In the Nov. 23 edition of The Reflector, a front page article ran titled “Tree of Life springs at Ridgefield High School.”

Considering the difficulty that many school districts are having passing funding measures, particularly Ridgefield, it seems a key piece of information that was left out of the article was the cost of the artwork. The article states that, “the state allotted a percentage of its budget (the new high school building) to public art.” I would think it is appropriate and really necessary that a newspaper article about this project using public funds would clearly convey the cost to taxpayers. In the spirit of thoroughness, we hope you will clearly provide that information in a future edition of The Reflector.
