In loving memory of Wilma Johnson: 1937-2022

Posted

With a sad heart, we announce the unexpected loss of our beautiful and vibrant mother, Wilma Louise Johnson on Nov. 6, 2022, to a brain aneurysm. She was 85, born to Gordon and Emma Brownell, and resided in Battle Ground, Washington.

She is survived by her son Robert “Bob” Johnson, daughter Karen (Guy) Miller, and three grandchildren: Jason Miller, and Erika and Emily Johnson.

Wilma was married to James R. “Bob” Johnson for 61 years. Bob recently passed on May 31, 2022.

Wilma was born in Donna, Texas, and grew up in Amboy, Washington, graduating from Battle Ground High School in 1955.

Wilma’s family was the center of her world. She was incredibly kind, wise and provided a solid foundation by example. She gave selflessly and with a joyful heart always. Wilma showed her grace and strength after her husband Bob passed as she adjusted to life without him. She received her strength through her family and the Lord’s word, and would start everyday with a devotional and prayer time. She enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren and working out in her beautiful yard. We are incredibly blessed to have had such amazing parents.

We are beyond words to our loss, but we know that mom and dad are together again with the Lord Jesus Christ. We are thankful for the salvation He has promised all of us if we follow Him. It is this promise that gives us strength through our difficult loss. We miss you mom, but will see you again soon.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at Layne’s Funeral, 16 NE Clark Ave., Battle Ground, Washington, 98604.
