Posted

Vicki L. Ruestig passed away on Oct. 1, 2022, at home with her family around her. She was 82.

Vicki was born in Stewart, Nebraska to John and Maria Deseive on Feb. 14, 1940. The family moved to Ridgefield, Washington early in her life and she has lived in Clark County for the rest of her life. She graduated from Battle Ground High School where she found and married her sweetheart Carl. They were married 64 wonderful years.

Vicki was an avid gardener. She had color in her garden every month of the year and the garden was a focal point in the neighborhood. All throughout her life, she was the person who would care for family throughout their stages in life. She had a classic sense of style, changing the home decor to reflect the seasons. She enjoyed playing the piano on Christmas Eve and singing carols was always a highlight of the day.

She is survived by her husband Carl; three sons Chris, Tony and Bart; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers Johnny and Doug Deseive; and sister Helen Borg.

She was preceded in death by sisters Marge Overholt and Pricilla (Babe) Overholt, and brother Robert Deceive.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2022, at Highland Lutheran Church, 38809 NE 41st Ave, La Center, Washington.

Memorial funds will be donated to Highland Lutheran Church.
