In loving memory of Tom Croley

Posted

James Thomas "Tom" Croley was born the youngest of three kids to Harold and Nell Croley. Growing up, Tom excelled in science and playing chess. He loved getting into mischief with his friends and spent his teenage years freediving and spearfishing with his best friend Ed Debee. Tom accepted Jesus as his savior as a teenager and spent much of his life ministering to others. Tom graduated from Florida Bible College in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in biblical education and a bachelor’s degree in theology. He went on to be a pastor and mentor to many. With his 12-string guitar in hand, he ran Christian youth camps and youth groups and served as an Awana Ministries kids club leader for 33 years.

Tom worked many years as a union glazier for Battle Ground Glass and also operated his own computer repair and software company. He also served his community as a volunteer peace officer, a tree-climbing animal rescuer and a free laptop charity service director.

Tom met his wife Susan on a missionary trip to Mexico, where they served together. They were married May 12, 1972, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage together. He loved spending time with his wife and four kids, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom survive him.

Tom was a humble Christian evangelist and community servant, a loyal husband, a dedicated father and a role model. He is loved and will be dearly missed. "Have fun storming the castle!"

A public celebration of Tom's life was held at Brush Prairie Baptist Church on Saturday, July 24, 2021.
