In loving memory of Teri Davis: 1943-2025

Posted

Harriet “Teri” C. Davis, born 81 years ago, experienced a childhood marked by moving from Framingham to Waterbury, Connecticut; Crown Point, Indiana; Weston, Connecticut; and Westport, Connecticut, for high school. From the East Coast, her brothers Jay and Doc Crane survive her.

Throughout her entire life, she was forever passionate about horses. Teri often said that when she was a teenager, her grandmother tried to groom her into a debutante—a fate she wanted to get as far from as possible. She did just that, going west after graduating from Boston University and finding work as a nurse in Wyoming. There, she met her husband, Thornton Davis, and they moved to Alaska, where they married in 1970. Thornton worked on the North Slope oil fields, and their home was in Anchorage, where they had their twin son and daughter, Cody and Tami, in 1972.

They eventually set up a new homestead in Port Angeles on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. There, her kids spent their school years, and Teri raised miniature horses at their Diamond-D Ranch. Eventually, Teri and her kids moved one more time to Brush Prairie, outside Vancouver, Washington. Tami married Kraig Hoff in 1999, and Cody married Ami Root in 2005. Grandchildren followed, with Tami and Kraig having a son, Boston, and a daughter, Samantha, while Cody and Ami had sons, Braden and Carson.

Teri lived an adventure-filled life with a pioneering, independent spirit. She always cherished time spent with family and friends.

We invite you to celebrate her life on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 1 p.m. at 351 Brier Road, Washougal, Washington. Please share your memories and stories as we honor her.

There is no pressure to do so; however, if you would like to honor her memory, our family asks that you donate online to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington (southwesthumane.org) in memory of Teri Crane Davis.

Thank you for your love and support.
