In loving memory of Roger Dunn: 1934-2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roger Eugene Dunn announces his passing at home Dec. 12, 2022, at the age of 88. He was born Feb. 24, 1934, to Rue Dunn and Letha Dunn Snider in Fortescue, Missouri. His family frequently moved between Missouri and Washington during his youth. He graduated from Vancouver High School in 1952 and lived in the Vancouver area for most of his adult life. 

He is survived by his daughters, Laurie (Jim) Burnett and Cindy (David) Cornwall- Brady; grandchildren, Allison Eldred, Kylee Eldred Rogers, Aaron, Kaity, Jimmy and Cierra Cornwall-Brady and Lindsay Rogers; his brother, Robert (Kelly) Snider; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 42 years, Velna; daughter, Debbie Rogers; brothers Warren, Phil and Jerry Dunn; and precious cousins in Missouri 

Roger worked for Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Vancouver for many years retiring at age 62. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, clam digging and camping through the years as well as rock-hounding, polishing rocks and making jewelry. He enjoyed watching most sports, but especially football and basketball. He also liked soccer when his grandkids were playing. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa (Papa) to his grandkids, always making time for them and his family. Roger served in the Army in 1957 and 1958, was a very active member with AWPPW union during his years at Boise and also a member of the Mt. Hood Rock Club. 

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Barberton Grange, 9400 NE 72nd Ave., Vancouver, WA 98665. There will be a luncheon with a time of reflections and remembrances following the service.
