In loving memory of Orson Ravenberg: 1932-2022

Orson Duane Ravenberg was born on March 27, 1932 in Doty, Washington. He graduated from Vancouver High School in 1950. After high school, he went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was released with honors. Orson also obtained an associate of arts degree at Clark College. Orson worked as a machinist for several companies, before being hired at BPA where he retired.

Orson was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Orson’s faith was a focal point of his life and he served his Lord in many capacities which include being a bishop for the Woodland and Battle Ground wards. After retirement, Orson and his wife served on three church missions which took him to Singapore, Samoa and Washington, D.C. Along with being an active member in his church, Orson was active in the community and was the president of the Ridgefield Little League during the 1970s.

Orson enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and watching youth sports. He had a passion for woodworking. During his later years, he made many beautiful pieces for his family and friends.

Orson passed away on May 2, 2022 with his beloved wife by his side. Orson is survived by his wife Shirley Ravenberg; children John Ravenberg, Laura Ploium, David Ravenberg, Joy Blackhurst and Todd Ravenberg; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations at https://addisfaithfoundation.org/. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on May 10, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 21720 NE 29th Ave., Ridgefield, Washington, 98642. A viewing will be held at noon.
