In loving memory of Norma V. Sommervold: 1932-2021

Posted

Norma V. Sommervold passed away peacefully Nov. 16, 2021, in Vancouver, Washington, after living a full and happy life. She was born in Elk Point, South Dakota, on Aug. 6, 1932.

She always looked on the bright side and was always guided by her faith. She enjoyed helping others, which truly fed her soul. If she knew someone needed help, she was always the first one there. She loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children Marcia (Dave), Kevin (Diane) and Vicky (Ned). Her son Alan (Gayle) passed away in 2019. She was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although she had five brothers and sisters, they all passed before her. Her best friend, Myra Wilkinson, was like family to her. She was Norma’s special sister friend. Thank you Myra for being such a special friend to our mom. Thank you to PeaceHealth Hospice and Brighter Days Adult Family Home for taking wonderful care of our mom.

Anyone who is wishing to make donations should please consider PeaceHealth Hospice, PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Foundation, LB #1094, PO Box 35146, Seattle, WA 98124. A private family service was held Dec. 11, 2021, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Brush Prairie, Washington.
